Routing Policy

Here're brief routing policy of AXNetworks

To enhance routing security, AXNetworks adopts some filters (some as below) to sanitise what AXNetworks export:

  • Reject all bogon prefixes and default routes (e.g. 0.0.0.0/0, ::/0, 2000::/3, etc.)
  • Reject all prefixes that includes bogon ASN in its BGP path
  • Reject too long prefixes or prefixes with long BGP path
  • Reject all prefixes whose RPKI status is not expected, or does not have an appropriate IRR record
  • Reject all prefixes from upstreams and peers
  • Peering Requirements

In order to maintain good network environment, following peering requirements are set and take in action.

AXNetworks have Open peering policy. Any entity/natural person are welcomed to peer at any PoPs listed above, or over IXPs.

    Peering Policy

    Basic Peering Policy

    • Peers must have their public routable ASN and prefixes
    • Peers must have an AS-SET. The AS-SET only includes peer's ASN (and its downstream's ASNs, if applicable)
    • Must have valid RPKI and IRR record prior sending prefixes
    • Maintains up-to-date NOC contact information on PeeringDB

    Pause/Termination Policy

AXNetworks reserves the right to pause/terminate peering if

    • Sending large amounts of prefixes that do not originate from the peer or are inconsistent with the advertised network
    • Announcing bogon prefixes
    • Trying to announce AXNetworks-owned prefixes
    • Violating local laws or receiving instructions from local authorities
    • Other unspecified cases that may threaten network security and stability

If you are interested in peering with AXNetworks, please contact AXNetworks via contact methods.
